I agree that moving back to the Big East for basketball was a good move...
but football-wise, UConn is much worse off than they were before the football schools left the Big East for the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, and AAC. All the original BEFC schools, except for Temple, are in the Power 5. Even BEFC newcomer Louisville got into the P-5. Of all the BEFC newcomers, UConn football is worse off than Temple, Cincinnati, and South Florida since the Big East football schools departed. UConn's Power 5 hopes are much lower now than 7-8 years ago. Being a football independent won't help UConn's Power 5 dreams. I wish UConn well. My parents grew up in eastern Connecticut and I have a few relatives who graduated from UConn. I think men's basketball will benefit the most from rejoining the Big East.
